The suspect in an April 24 Kinston murder is in custody. William Terrance Foye, 24, was arrested by Boston police Thursday. Foye was taken into custody after officers there responded to a shots fired call.

Some area towns saw an increase in their crime rates, Kinston flew against the trend with a slight overall decrease. State Attorney General Roy Cooper said Tuesday in a statement reports of crime across the state rose by 0.1 percent, while violent crime dropped by 0.7 percent per 100,000 people.
